Cochrane Child Health explains how evidence-based storybooks help parents manage children with croup in the emergency department.

In this video, Cochrane Child Health shares how evidence-based storybooks were developed to support parents bringing their children to the emergency department with croup. By listening to parents’ real experiences and embedding high-quality research evidence into relatable stories, these books were designed to help parents during moments of intense anxiety. A randomized controlled trial showed that children whose parents received the storybooks experienced faster resolution of croup symptoms compared to standard information alone.
