The Brainbook neurotrauma series, in collaboration with the NIHR Global Health Research Group on Neurotrauma, we will be looking at the types of brain injuries that often require brain surgery. This case is that of a young lady who was a pedestrian involved in a hit-and-run. She was found deeply unconscious at the scene, had a breathing tube inserted into her and transferred to The Royal London Hospital. This video shows the highlights of the case so far, some GoPro footage of a real decompression (to remove the blood from the surface of the brain) which is life-saving surgery.
