In this video, researchers discuss the findings of a new Cochrane review examining the impact of pharmaceutical company promotion on prescribing practices. Drawing on evidence from 93 studies involving hundreds of thousands of doctors and millions of prescribing decisions, the review found that promotional activities, including sales representative visits, sponsored materials, and even free meals, are associated with increased prescribing of promoted medicines.
