Dr. Michael Greger presents evidence-based criteria for optimal weight loss and long-term health using a whole-food, plant-based diet.

In his newest live presentation from 2019, Dr. Greger offers a sneak peek into his new book How Not to Diet, which hones in on the optimal criteria to enable weight loss while considering how these foods actually affect our health and longevity. New subscribers to our e-newsletter always receive a free gift. Get yours here: nutritionfacts.org/subscribe/ I’m so excited to be bringing you my new live presentation! I used to do annual reviews of the medical literature, but that was before the success of How Not to Die (nutritionfacts.org/book/). Realizing just how many people (and in 33 languages!) I’m now able to reach with my books, I set out to write a new book every three years. The downside is that now I’m just barely able to keep up making new videos for NutritionFacts.org and so I just have time to create one new presentation per book. This one, I am proud to announce, is based on my upcoming book How Not to Diet (nutritionfacts.org/how-not-to-diet/), which comes out next month. If you find this presentation helpful, please share it with others by sharing the link to this page. And if you want to be among the first to grab my new book, please consider pre-ordering How Not to Diet to help me bump it high on the bestseller list the week it launches in hopes of exposing more people to evidence-based weight loss. …cancer fighting properties of a plant based diet. Consumption of meat and animal products seem to lead to higher cancer risks. On “‘I’d rather eat an actual burger’: plant-based meat’s sizzle fizzled in the US”

…ped tomatoes, 2-3 cups oat milk, 1.5 cup washed lentils, Add chopped large sweet potato, add a can of garbanzo beans, add a small can of chopped mushrooms (drained). Serve with brown rice. Can add raisins and nutritional yeast. Can get a sweet crunch adding candied nuts. I also find this lecture helpful for thinking about foods to experiment with: link to this video You can also look for vegan or vegetarian restaurants in your area and try them, see what you like, and try to work with those foods. And look for different cultures like Indian food that focus on more vegetarian meals. Bon appetit!…

>Now enter plant based / animal free diets, how are people gonna get to satiety without all that dense meat / fish / chicken? There was a time when animal products were a lot more expensive and scarce. When you add more foods with water in them (provided you're not overloading those foods with fat and oils) you end up feeling more satiated. link to this video
