A CT scan of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis reveals a massive retroperitoneal mass, later diagnosed as mature B-cell lymphoma.
This was a late 40s female who presented with constipation and abdominal swelling. On physical exam, she has a large fluid wave. CT of her chest abdomen and pelvis shows the following. The primary finding is an extremely large homogenous conglomerate retroperitoneal, mesenteric, presacral, and bilateral iliac mass, with additional bulky bilateral axillary and inguinal lymphadenopathy, consistent with lymphoma. There is circumferential retroperitoneal arterial and venous vascular encasement, encasement of the bilateral ureters with resultant moderate hydronephrosis, and encasement of the left adrenal gland and anterior left kidney. There are also large bilateral pleural effusions in the chest and a large volume ascites. The patient was admitted to the hospital and biopsy revealed mature B cell lymphoma.
